Specialist letters

A clinical document that a specialist who is treating you writes to your GP, uploaded by your specialist healthcare providers.

Your specialists can share important information about your healthcare directly with your GP

A specialist letter is a clinical document that provides GPs with information and recommendations that are relevant to your ongoing care like diagnoses, medication changes, and treatment plans.

People who can access your record will be able to view this information. Find out more about who can access a record

Information in a specialist letter can include:

  • patient recommendations
  • medicines and medication reviews
  • adverse reactions

How to find a specialist letter

Get started:

  1. Sign in to My Health Record:


     
  2. Select the record you want to access.
  3. Select Documents from the top menu.  
  4. Select Clinical Records from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select Specialist Letters.

You can search for specific documents by filtering by fields such as date, author or organisation.
