The Strategy Delivery Roadmap sets out clear and measurable steps for how Australia's National Digital Health Strategy will be implemented. The roadmap:
- includes 12 priority areas that will facilitate the achievement of the strategy’s health system outcomes. Each priority area includes initiatives to guide partners on how they can contribute to achieving the outcomes.
- is a living document that will be reviewed periodically to keep pace with technological developments, emerging policy priorities and health challenges.
- has been informed by and co-designed with partners across industry, technology vendors, healthcare providers, researchers, governments and consumers, via detailed work plans and proposals.
The roadmap does not cover all digital health activity, but focuses on areas that require coordinated effort and shared investment over the 5-year period of the strategy.
"Digital health is not simply about the latest technology. It is about supporting a modern, high‑quality health system, improving the quality of life of individuals, families and communities, and equipping people to confidently manage their health and wellbeing journey. It’s also about enabling healthcare providers to maximise their skills and contributions by increasing effectiveness and efficiency."
