Mr Daniel McCabe

Daniel McCabe is Acting Co-Deputy Secretary Health Resourcing Group and First Assistant Secretary of Medicare Benefits and Digital Health Division at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.

As Co-Deputy Secretary Daniel has direct oversight of Medicare, Compliance, Private Health Insurance and the COVID Vaccine Programs.

As First Assistant Secretary Daniel is responsible for providing policy advice on the Medicare Benefits Scheme to deliver access to medical services for all Australians. Daniel is also responsible for providing policy direction on digital health to connect patients and health care providers with their health information across the health system.

Daniel joined the department in 2015 and has had a number of roles including Chief Information Officer, Chief Operating Officer and has previously lead the Medicare Compliance Program.
