Mr Mehmet Kavlakoglu
Mehmet is passionate about mental health and supporting Australians from diverse backgrounds. He has a keen interest in the de-stigmatisation of mental ill health and improving access to services for rural and remote areas.
Mehmet joined headspace in 2015 as part of headspace Adelaide’s Youth Ambassador Program developing his understanding on promoting positive habits and early intervention.
Mehmet continued as a headspace Youth National Reference Group member and later worked as a Peer Moderator for eheadspace until 2021, taking a short break and resuming his role with eheadspace in 2023 and joining the Digital Reference Group at the same time.
From 2019 until the end of 2021, Mehmet worked as a Wellbeing Leader and Inclusive Education Coordinator in an independent school comprising three campuses.
He has been a member of the National Digital Health Mental Advisory Group since late 2021 with his involvement wrapping up in 2023.
Mehmet has been with the Australian Digital Health Agency as a Consumer Advisor since November 2020.
In 2022, Mehmet was involved in Deloitte's digital health practice and behaviour change initiative, leveraging change management principles and behavioural science to ease the transition towards hybrid models of care.
In his current role, Mehmet has remained engaged in digital health by conceptualising, designing and implementing legal technology to improve service provision in the health sector that ensures compliance with a variety of regulatory instruments.
