Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) v3 Beta Survey and AMT Technical Implementation Guide (version 3 model) released

NEHTA is pleased to announce that the Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) v3 Beta survey and AMT Technical Implementation Guide (version 3 model) are now available for licence holders.

We encourage all current and prospective users to complete the survey to help us ensure that the AMT v3 model and documentation are both suitable and sufficient for your needs.

For those unfamiliar with AMT v3 the following documents (and specific sections) may provide information to assist in completing this survey:

  • AMT v3 Overview and Detailed Business Use Cases: Sections 2.5, 2.6, 3.1, 4.3 to 4.5.
  • AMT Technical Implementation Guide (version 3 model): Sections 2.3, 3.1.6 to 3.1.9, 3.3, 3.4 and 3.7.
  • AMT 2012 Survey Results and Development Roadmap: Sections 2.3.3, 2.3.5, 2.3.6, and Section 3.
  • AMT v2 to v3 Migration Guide: Sections 3.3 and 3.4.

These documents including the AMT Technical Implementation Guide (version 3 model) are published on the National Clinical Terminology and Information Service (NCTIS) website.

The survey can be accessed here https://www.surveymk.com/s/7LGWTXV and should only take about 15 minutes. It is open for completion until 5pm (AESTD) 30 April 2013.

The primary aims of the AMT v3 Beta survey are to:

  • Confirm that the AMT v3 concept model and components are suitable and sufficient to support stakeholders' application of AMT v3.
  • Understand any barriers to stakeholder implementations of AMT v3.
  • Gauge stakeholder understanding of the AMT v3 distribution format.
  • Seek stakeholder feedback on the sufficiency of AMT v3 documentation.
  • Evaluate the level of education, training and implementation support required for stakeholders.

The purpose is to provide implementation guidance for software developers and technical consumers, including:

  • Details of the AMT v3 model and distribution form.
  • Guidance on using and interpreting AMT v3.
  • Sample methods and SQL scripts for querying AMT v3 data relevant to common use cases.
